Pumpkin Hunt Business Participants

Horizons first annual Pumpkin Hunt benefitting Neurodiverse Network

This event will be a shop hop event. It will run Friday October 11th through Sunday October 13th. It is not required to participate in the entire weekend. Brick and mortar businesses who would like to participate will get a square in the pumpkin hunt passport. The cost of a square in the passport will be $10 and an item of the business's choice to be donated as a prize.

Participating pumpkin hunters will be encouraged to visit participating businesses to get a stamp in their passport. Stickers will be provided to participating businesses to put into participants passport booklets. Pumpkin hunters will get chances to win prizes by wearing a costume while they are on their hunt, for filling their passport, for posting and tagging participating businesses in photos on social media when they visit them, and they will get bonus chances for each day that they participate in the hunt.

If you are a business that teaches classes and workshops, participants will earn extra chances to win prizes if they participate in any of the hands-on workshops from participating businesses.

If you are an artist or business that does not have a brick and mortar location, you can pair up with a brick and mortar business where you can display and sell your items. If you are an artist or vendor who is already scheduled to participate in an event or art show in Cumberland County during that weekend, you can still get a passport square and stickers to give out when people visit your booth at the event you are participating in.

Businesses are NOT required to be open for extended hours throughout the weekend. I just ask that you let me know what your business hours will be for each of the days so that I can make sure participants are aware. Also any artists or businesses who are pairing up with a brick and mortar, you do not have to be there for all of the hours that your partner business is open. Again I just ask that you let me and your partner business know what hours you will be there so that your partner business can plan appropriately and I can make sure that hours are publicized for participants.

My goal is for this to become an annual event to encourage people to get out and visit the variety of small businesses we have in Cumberland County.

The hunt participants will purchase a hunt passport for $10, a portion of which will be donated to the Neurodiverse Network. They will get a booklet with squares for each participating business that they will take with them throughout the weekend and will get stickers from the businesses they visit. They will be encouraged to post and tag pictures with the event hashtag. At the end of the weekend there will be prize drawings.

I will have graphics made that participating businesses can use to promote on their social media and with their customers. If you as a participating business have a logo that you would like me to use in publicity please email that to me at demetra.horizons@gmail.com
